High cholesterol. You can’t feel it, see it or hear it. But
when your cholesterol sneaks up above a desirable level, it puts you at an increased risk for a heart attack and other heart diseases. Several things can increase your risk for developing high cholesterol including a high fat and cholesterol diet, lack of physical activity and smoking. Additional risk factors may be age, other medical conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure and family history.
Abbey Road Hospice recommends you stop by or call your neighborhood Publix Pharmacy and ask if this service is available there. Or you can click below to see if they offer this service. If so, make an appointment with the pharmacist to find out if your cholesterol level is healthy. The screening takes less than five minutes, and your Publix pharmacist will also assess your risk for heart disease and provide you with valuable information you can use to help lower your risk.
Publix Pharmacy offers the following Cholesterol Screenings at select locations:
Total Lipid Profile: fasting screening (Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides, and glucose) $20
Total Cholesterol & HDL: non-fasting screening $15
